Type: Direct Hire, Full Time
Compensation: $100k/year and up
Position Overview:
- Translate and cascade objectives to measurable goals applicable for area of responsibility, maintaining accountability for the successful execution of all approved strategies.
- Ensure that operations achieve business objectives by providing direction and oversight to managers.
- Support the region in achieving overall P&L targets by identifying opportunities for improvement as well as collaborating across the region to leverage resources, etc.
- Conduct operations reviews to assess all cost drivers that impact financials.
- Monitor and control operational volumes, capacity, material use, inventory data, etc.
- Review financial statements, operations and cost reports, and other key performance indicators to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
- Create and enforce a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
- Develop staffing plans and establish work plans and schedules on projects.
- Maintain responsibility for personnel management including recruitment, supervision, disciplinary actions, performance appraisals and termination of employment.
- Work closely with management to identify and address customer service, union, and fleet related concerns.
Characteristics of a Successful Candidate:
- Bachelor s degree in Operations/Business Management, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field required; Master s degree preferred
- 10-15 years of relevant work experience required
- Gravel and/or concrete experience required
- Must have demonstrated the ability to successfully and effectively organize, manage, and lead an organization of diverse disciplines
- Creativity in approaches used to develop and direct short- and long-range planning and development programs
- Strong knowledge and understanding related to company products, processes, and equipment.
- Strong understanding of financials and performance metrics.
- Excellent communication/leadership and people skills
- Proficiency with computer systems including Microsoft Office suite of programs as well as operations-related technical systems.
