Executive Director
Preference Employment Solutions is conducting a confidential search for an Executive Director on behalf of a mission driven human services organization. This senior leadership role is responsible for overall organizational performance, including operations, financial stewardship, compliance, and culture, while working closely with a governing board to advance the organization s mission and long-term sustainability.
Type of Position: Direct Hire, Full Time Compensation: $110, 000 $130, 000 per year, DOE
Position Overview
Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the organization.
Oversee operations, programs, and staff to ensure high quality service delivery.
Partner with the Board of Directors on governance, strategy, and accountability.
Ensure financial health through budget oversight, forecasting, and controls.
Maintain compliance with applicable licensing, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
Represent the organization externally with funders, regulators, and public stakeholders.
Advocate for organizational priorities and funding needs with policymakers and community leaders.
Characteristics of a Successful Candidate
Bachelor s degree required;advanced degree preferred
Five or more years of senior leadership experience in nonprofit or human services settings
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex operations
Strong financial acumen, including budget and fiscal oversight
Experience navigating regulatory environments and public funding structures
Clear, confident communicator with boards, public officials, and external stakeholders
Mission driven, collaborative, and decisive leadership style
